India-Japan Cooperative Seminar at IITB: Glimpse of Learning

India-Japan Relations: Need for Young Leaders

The IITB Group on Competitiveness, SJMSOM & Japanese Language Learners Group at IITB cooperated to organize an interactive seminar on above topic on Oct. 9, 2013.  For the seminar we were lucky to have a veteran such as Mr. Sanjeev Sinha, President, Sun and Sands Group, Tokyo.  In addition, we had Shri Ulhas Acharya, a professional with more than two decades of experiences in Japan. The interactive seminar was liked very much by the participants. Details of contents may be made available later.  Here is just a glimpse of key learning:

  • India-Japan cooperation is entering new phase
  • Currently contribution of learners from China is massive, as compared to that number of students from India is less than 1000 (very optimistic estimate, in 2013)
  • Unique needs of Japanese can be made an opportunity for capable IITians to explore Japan
  • Opportunities are there, but preparation and language (at least basic to start with) skills are needed
